A New Adventure on the Horizon

A New Adventure on the Horizon

Oil Rigg

I’m excited to share that work on the fourth book in The Pursuit Series is well underway. After their adventures through the Cascade Mountains, along the Outer Banks, and across the rugged terrain of Patagonia, Erik and Amelia’s next journey takes them to the far north of Europe. The dramatic Norwegian fjords and the storm-battered North Sea create the perfect backdrop for a case that literally plunges into the depths.

The story begins with what appears to be a simple journey from Edmonton to Hamburg, but quickly entangles Erik and Amelia in a complex web of deception and corruption. Their investigation leads them into dangerous waters, both literally and figuratively, as they uncover a conspiracy with far-reaching environmental implications.

New Characters and Unexpected Challenges

This new adventure introduces several compelling new characters while also bringing back a figure from Erik’s past. This unexpected reunion creates emotional complications that add a powerful layer of tension to the unfolding mystery, testing Erik and Amelia’s relationship as they navigate both personal and professional challenges.

The plot of this upcoming thriller offers more than just the usual elements of suspense. In the depths of the North Sea, Amelia encounters a phenomenon that only she, with her expertise in biology, can fully comprehend. This discovery becomes a central element of the story, dramatically illustrating how everything in Earth’s ecosystem is interconnected.

Breaking New Ground: The Eco-Thriller

With this fourth installment of The Pursuit Series, I’m exploring new thematic territory. While maintaining the familiar blend of adventure, suspense, and relationship dynamics, the novel will incorporate elements of an eco-thriller for the first time. Questions of climate change and environmental responsibility are skillfully integrated into the action-packed narrative.

The title and cover will be revealed at a later date. Publication is planned for spring 2025, with preparations already in full swing. For those new to The Pursuit Series, each book stands alone while building on the evolving relationship between German investigative journalist Erik and Canadian biologist Amelia. If you haven’t yet experienced their adventures in Cascade Target, Atlantic Target, and Patagonian Target, now would be the perfect time to discover these pulse-pounding thrillers before the new installment arrives.
